The Marula Tree standing alone in the midst of a vast field embodying the essence of tranquility and natural beauty at Kruger National Park, Absorbing light from the sun giving life to many flora and fauna. Surrounding the tree field is carpeted with lush green grass that stretches towards the horizon, painting a picture of unspoiled nature . Marula tree has been an integral part of African culture and history, it belongs in the same family Anacardiaceous as mango and pistachio. In the Zulu tradition it is known as "marriage tree" for it's symbol of fertility. According to African folklore it is also called 'The Elephant Tree' as Elephant travels miles to feast on Marula fruit. The famous Amarula cream liqueur is made from the fruit of Marula tree.
