Circularity in Your City
Typically, I use my bicycle to commute between home and work. However, one day I opted for a different route and passed through Bempt Park. This park features a soccer club, a pond, a school, a playground, and an intriguing sight captured in the photograph. It appears to be an urban forest, complete with makeshift structures, greenhouses, and small plots of land growing various crops and possibly even fruit trees. While it may not be meticulously maintained like a traditional garden, it holds potential as a catalyst for urban improvement. Situated near a school, it presents an opportunity to educate children about creating greener urban environments and promoting local food security, thus reducing reliance on long-distance food transport and cutting down on packaging waste.
