Circularity in Your City

Embracing Circular Economy: A Pathway to Sustainable Future

“Did you know that only in Cordoba, Argentina 2 kg of garbage are generated per day? Per person. Can you imagine the size all of that occupies?
When I was deciding how to participate in this contest, many ideas came to mind. Instead of focusing on what the government or high-level corporate leadership can do to reduce waste generation and pollution at the city level, I wanted to show what we can do from our own homes, with things that are within our reach.
That's why I wanted to share with you the different things that surround me today.
In the picture, we can see how I teach my younger cousin how to generate compost, as a natural fertilizer from our food scraps. We can also observe, from left to right, a repurposed potato chip canister now serving as a pencil holder, toilet paper rolls transformed into decorated figurines, wine corks forming decoration, a glass jar used instead of disposable cups, and finally, the black pencil casein the center , which was made from recycled materials from the automotive industry and crafted by women from the informal economy, as its label indicates.
And most importantly, it's about telling this on to the next generations, not by teaching them theoretically but by example, witnessing firsthand the good changes that this generates.
If each one of us didn't contribute with our grain of sand, there wouldn't exist deserts".
