Terms and Conditions

In the spirit of ensuring a seamless and equitable competition, familiarize yourself with the comprehensive submission guidelines that govern the GO CIRCULAR Through the Lens challenge. These guidelines serve as your compass, providing clarity on the rules and parameters that will shape the entire submission process:

Number of Entries:

Participants are allowed to submit a maximum of three photographs (one for each category): Nature in Your Site or Workplace, Circularity in Your City, and Builder of Progress.

Technical Specifications:

Image Format: – submit your photographs in JPEG or PNG format.
Resolution – ensure a minimum resolution of 300 dpi for optimal display.
File Size – each image file should not exceed 5 MB.

Content Guidelines:

Align your submissions with the overarching theme of GO CIRCULAR, emphasizing circular living and building, nature sustainability, and innovation.
Avoid explicit or offensive content. All submissions should be in good taste and adhere to professional standards.

Originality and Authenticity:

Participants must be the sole authors of each submitted entry, confirming that it is their original work and does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third party.
Participants must own the copyright and any other intellectual property rights associated with each image submitted, and by entering the competition, they grant Holcim a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and display the images in connection with the competition and related promotional activities.
Participants must obtain necessary permissions from the owner(s) of objects, including buildings, featured in submitted images. In instances where a person is the subject of the photographs, participants must collect the consent of the individual(s) to use their likeness and image. Participants agree to provide Holcim with proof of such consent upon request, including but not limited to consent forms signed by the relevant individual(s).
By entering the competition and submitting their images, participants agree to indemnify and hold Holcim harmless from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising out of or related to any third-party claim alleging infringement of copyright or violation of intellectual property rights resulting from the submission or use of the images. This indemnification obligation shall survive the termination of the competition.

Storytelling Aspect:

Accompany each submission with a brief narrative (max 150 words) that shares the story behind the photograph. Capture the essence of your circularity journey and the significance of the image.

Deadline for Submissions:

The closing date for submissions is February 2024. Ensure all entries are submitted digitally through the prescribed process on our official webpage. Submissions received after this deadline will not be eligible for consideration.

Usage Permissions:

By submitting images to the ‘GO CIRCULAR Photographic Competition,’ each entrant grants Holcim permission to use the submitted imagery across its marketing channels, provided that full credit is given to the respective image owner.

Eligibility:

The competition is open to all Holcim employees, who fulfil the following conditions (excluding those directly involved in the competition and judging, as well as their families and relatives).
Hocim-contracted employees and trainees from the company.
Fixed term or permanent contract, or internship agreement valid through at least 31 August 2024.
At least 3 months in service on 22 February 2024.
Winner must possess a valid visa and international passport to travel to France.

Judging Process:

Entries will be evaluated based on creativity, relevance to the theme, and overall impact by a panel of impartial judges.
The top 10 pictures, based on jury selection, will be featured on Holcim’s social media platforms.

Prize Details:

The submission with a combination of majority votes from employees, as well as Jury selection based on the criteria above will win the grand prize.
The top picture, selected by the jury, will also receive special recognition as the star prize.

Participation in the GO CIRCULAR Through the Lens challenge implies agreement with and acceptance of these terms and conditions. Holcim reserves the right to amend or update these terms and conditions at any time.
